The DeKalb Area Women’s Center is trying to get its water garden put in. Help is sought for two days this week, Thursday and Saturday. If you can dig, show up with a shovel anytime between 9-3 either day. One can also help by donating native plants for the garden, or providing refreshments for the volunteers.
The arrangement for an excavator’s help has fallen through, so the digging will be a little more strenuous than previously anticipated but DAWC hopes to draw a few volunteers Thursday through the annual Kishwaukee United Way Day of Caring. If that works out it’ll help a lot. DAWC got some good volunteers through Day of Caring last year.
Full disclosure: I’m a DAWC member.
